British Design, British Longevity

  • ESSE’s longstanding reputation has been built upon since its establishment in the mid 1800s. It is a family run business based in Lancashire, and each of its range cookers is built individually by expert craftsmen.

  • Most parts, including the cast iron, are made here in the UK and are therefore easily replaceable and less likely to be affected by ongoing trade wars.

  • These cookers are meant to last. The simplicity and care of the design means they require very little servicing, making your cooker a fairly low maintenance investment.

Superb cooking technology

  • ESSE range cookers have independent temperature control. This means that each oven and hob can be adjusted separately, allowing you to cook multiple dishes at different temperatures simultaneously.

  • The cookers utilise a ‘power-share’ technology. This directs energy to whichever zone needs it most, reducing energy waste and boosting temperatures quickly when needed.

  • Slumber and standby modes create pre-set low temperature settings. This retains warmth without energy waste, perfect for reheating dishes.

  • A surround element design embeds elements all around the oven, rather than from a single source. Food is therefore heated evenly, reducing hot and cold spots and making sure your bakes and roasts are cooked to perfection.

  • The cast iron and insulation gives these ovens a high thermal mass. This stabilises heat and keeps the energy from escaping. The outside of the range cooker therefore emits a gentle warmth without overheating your room.

  • The steady and even heat distribution creates the perfect condition for oven floor cooking. You can place trays directly on the bottom of the oven without fear of scorching.

Dual hob technology

  • All ESSE range cookers have cast iron hotplates for frying, simmering and grilling. These have excellent heat retention and are adjustable, allowing you to increase or dial back the heat when needed. Hotplates reach temperatures of up to 350c and reach full temperature in 7 minutes.

  • Models above 600mm also have integrated induction zones. These heat quickly and precisely, minimising energy waste and allowing for accurate temperature control.

  • On the largest models, there is a three zone, blended hob. This gives you a three zone induction hob as well as induction hobs, making these larger models the most versatile of all ESSE’s cookers

Benefits for you

  • As there is no need for a flue for ESSE electric range cookers, you have flexibility of kitchen layout, and can put your cooker wherever suits you.

  • The power-share, temperature control and insulation in an ESSE range cooker means it has low energy costs compared to many others on the market. Some customers report running costs as little as £1 a day.

  • Cooking is fast and efficient. Heat up times are quick and the power sharing technology means zones can be boosted quickly, meaning you can get straight to cooking.

  • An ESSE range cooker in your kitchen emits a gentle, steady warmth. You get the cosiness without the stifling heat, making your kitchen a comforting, inviting place to be.

  • Cooking is simple and stress-free. The dual technology hobs and controllable ovens mean you can switch easily between cooking styles. This is traditional range cooking without the drama, perfect for those with busy lives who still want to honour tradition and beauty in their cooking.
