13 Amp Agas
The 13 Amp Aga offers everything a traditional oil or gas Aga does but on reliable electric, avoiding the need for regular servicing an maintenance.
A traditional “Heart of the Home” model, the 13 Amp has limited controllability, offering excellent heat output and all the benefits of traditional Aga life - drying clothes, a constantly boiling kettle, the ultimate bottom warmer (!) and much more besides.
It is a popular choice for those that would like a traditional feel but do not have access or the ability to install gas or oil, along with the required flue systems and complications these fuels can bring. It important to be aware however of the very high running cost of this model.
For a traditional Aga on electric, our 30 Amp Agas enjoy more moderate running costs, whilst you may wish to consider more controllable options if reducing ongoing expense is important to you.
At Rural Ranges (Dorset based, covering England, Wales and internationally), We only supply ‘factory built’ 13 Amp models, which are available as 2, 3 or 4 Oven Aga. We can also supply colour matched modules.
Adding AIMS:
AIMs (Aga intelligent management system) is a timer system and is available as an upgrade on our 13 Amp electric Agas. It reduces the running cost by 12-20% approx if used to its potential. Any Aims upgrade set on our Agas will be supplied new to ensure longevity.
Aims features:
- Pre–set mode, Override feature & holiday mode.
- Pre-set mode allows 2 “active” periods per day, breakfast & dinner where the Aga is at full heat. It drops to low during the day and to slumber at night (lowest temp).
- Can be personalised to preference.
- Holiday mode sets to low, slumber or off between dates & restarts ready for return.
- Operated via handset.
Advantages of 13 Amp Agas
- Runs just like oil or gas traditional Agas but on electric - always ready when you need it.
- Excellent ambient heat.
- Feel likes a traditional heart of the home Aga - drying clothes, ironing, kettle boiling, yoghurt making etc.
- Cleaner fuel choice, environmentally preferable to gas or oil.
- Easy to use - no complicated controls to contend with.

- Consistent - will not lose heat between engineer visits or be affected by weather patterns, quality of fuel etc.

Disadvantages of 13 Amp Agas
- Limited controllability.
- Single element so heat regain can be slower than in multi element models.
- High running costs - highest of any Aga bar LPG.
- Parts prices can be relatively high (Aims / Control boards) when they go wrong.
- Reliant on consistent electric supply.

Prices include installation within 3 hours driving distance (according to AA Route Planner). Beyond this area, a small distance surcharge may apply. All prices include VAT.
