Oil Agas
First produced in 1959 and arguably the most traditional of all Agas in common use today, oil remains a popular choice, particularly for those in rural locations.
At Rural Ranges (Dorset based, covering England, Wales and internationally), our oil Aga cookers are available in purpose built 2 or 4 oven models. We will install an electronic control valve as standard for faster recovery times, however manual valves are available on request. Boilers are available in any of our oil fired Agas for an additional fee.
Advantages of Oil Aga cookers
- A true traditional Aga
- A good option in rural properties where natural gas is not available
- Potential for no reliance on electricity at all (with manual control valve - we will discuss the benefits of each system)
- Electronic control valves allow greater consistency of temperatures
- Boiler can be added for hot water supply
- Good room heat
- Can be used for traditional Aga functions, including boiling a kettle & drying clothes
- Very little mechanically to go wrong - made to last
- Low parts prices
Disadvantages of Oil Aga cookers
- Biannual servicing required
- Inconsistent quality of oil can cause more frequent breakdowns
- Higher initial installation prices if oil tank, oil line and flue are required
- Running costs dependent on fluctuating oil prices
- Inclusion of boiler will increase oil use
- Less environmentally desirable
- No 3 oven option
- Limited to location - can only go where a chimney is present or an outside wall with unsightly stainless steel twin lined flue
- Many users have to turn the Aga off in the summer due to excessive heat output

All our Agas are sold in 'as new' condition and include the following:
- Full re-enamelling including front plate and doors, top plate, lid rings and handrail brackets. (Side panels come standard in Black, an additional cost for coloured side panels, if required).
- Produced to order, to your specifications
- Shot blasting of internals to clean cast
- Refinished hot spots
- Replacement chrome domes (or re-enamelled domes for an additional £200), lid liners, lid cords and sundries. For other finishes, including gold, brass, copper and black chrome, please ask for a quotation.
- Replacement door liners, ropes and sundries.
- Replacement chrome buttons and lid springs.
- Replacement oven tunnels.
- Replacement insulation in lid doors and doors. Ceramic blanket upgrade.
- Replacement badge, handrail and thermometer.
- Re-enamelled flue box if applicable.
- New working parts throughout
- 5 year parts warranty*, 1 year labour

Oil Aga Cookers Pricing
Prices include installation within 3 hours driving distance (according to AA Route Planner). Beyond this area, a small distance surcharge may apply. All prices include VAT.

Powder coated steel plinth 2/3 oven is £200. 4 oven plinth is £250. A TC/DC have an integral plinth so no additional plinth is required. A module plinth is £140.

We aim to provide the newest Agas we can source, all our oil Agas are purpose built factory oil models. Our Agas are fully re enamelled to order with a 6-8 week turnaround time from ordering to installation. We have a range of existing front plates in stock which can be purchased at a reduced price and where a faster turnaround is required. Do ask about our existing stock. All our Oil Agas can be upgraded with alternative finishes from our Finishes List.
We can also supply oil tanks, oil line and flues with full project management (dependent on location).
