Use the bottom of the roasting oven on a traditional Aga or place the shelf on the bottom of the top oven on an ElectricKit Aga for zero soggy bottoms.
Ingredients:
- 1 pack of ready roll puff pastry
- 25g butter
- 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon
- 3 tbsp caster sugar
Glaze:
- 2 tbsp icing sugar
- 2 teaspoon water
- 1 tbsp pecans (optional)
- Milk or egg wash (optional)
Method:
- Roll out the puff pastry.
- Mix the sugar and cinnamon together in a bowl.
- Melt the butter and brush over the pastry leaving a 1 inch border.
- Sprinkle over the sugar and cinnamon mix.
- Roll the pastry into a long sausage shape and slice evenly into 8-10 pieces.
- Place on a baking sheet and brush with egg or milk.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes at 200c with the shelf on the bottom of an ElectricKit Aga or ESSE electric range cooker, until golden brown. Or bake on the floor of the roasting oven on a traditional Aga.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
- To make the glaze, mix a small amount of water with the icing sugar to form a thick paste. Drizzle over the cooled pastries.
- To top with toasted pecans, simply place the pecans on a tray in the oven for a few minutes until golden brown. Alternatively, you can toast on an Aga or ESSE hotplate. Use a traditional Aga simmering plate with Bake-O-Glide. If using an ElectricKit Aga hotplate or Esse hotplate, set the temperature to a medium heat so as not to burn the nuts.
