Job Description
Location: Rural Ranges, North Mills Trading Estate, Bridport
Reports to: Directors

The Role
We require a friendly, self-motivated and highly organised individual to join our small team, helping with the day-to-day running of our busy office and showroom.
The role combines customer service, sales administration, general office duties and support for our engineering team. As a member of a small business, your responsibilities will be varied, and you will need to be adaptable, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
We pride ourselves on providing exceptional customer service, and the successful candidate will play an important part in maintaining those standards, whether dealing with customers, supporting colleagues or ensuring that the information needed to carry out our work is accurate and readily available.
Our industry is particularly specialist, so a genuine willingness to learn is essential. Full training will be provided, but we are looking for someone who is curious, enthusiastic and motivated to develop a thorough understanding of our products and services.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
• Responding to customer enquiries by telephone, email and in person.
• Assisting with sales enquiries, preparing quotations and following up with customers.
• Booking appointments and supporting the coordination of servicing, repairs and installations.
• Maintaining accurate customer records and ensuring our office systems are well organised and up to date.
• Providing general administrative support to our busy team.
• Helping to ensure our engineers have the information and materials they need to carry out their work efficiently and effectively, and acting as a point of contact throughout their working day.
• Welcoming customers to our showroom and assisting with their enquiries.
• Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the business.
Requirements:
Essential
- Previous experience in customer service, sales or office administration.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and driven, with a proactive approach to work.
- Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with a genuine desire to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Versatile and adaptable – as a member of a small business, your role will be varied and you will need to be able to meet the challenges of a busy working environment.
- A good team player – you will work closely with your colleagues in a small team where everyone has a key role to play.
- Confident and competent using computers and everyday office software.
- An excellent problem solver, able to use initiative and work independently when required.
- A keen learner, with the curiosity and motivation to develop a strong understanding of our specialist products and services.
- A professional manner and an appreciation of the expectations of a high-end clientele.
Advantageous
- Flexibility to work additional hours to provide holiday cover for colleagues, alongside the regular Thursday working hours.
- Experience of working within a similar small business.
- Experience preparing quotations, processing orders or managing customer enquiries.
- Knowledge of Aga cookers, range cookers or associated products.
- An interest in cooking, kitchens or the products we sell.
Previous knowledge of our industry is not required, as full training will be provided. We are equally interested in finding someone with the right attitude, initiative and willingness to learn.
Hours and Opportunities
The role is for 8 regular hours per week, working on Thursdays at our Bridport showroom and office.
Ideally, the successful candidate will also be available to work additional days to provide holiday cover for colleagues, although this is not an essential requirement.
As Rural Ranges continues to grow, there is potential for significantly increased regular hours and additional responsibilities for the right person in the future. Whilst this cannot be guaranteed, we would particularly welcome applications from someone interested in developing their role with us over time.
Benefits
You will be a valued member of a small team within a fast-moving and exciting business.
• A varied and interesting role within a friendly, growing family business.
• Full training in our specialist products, services and systems.
• Opportunities to develop your skills and take on additional responsibilities.
• 28 days' holiday (including bank holidays), pro rata.
• 1 additional day's holiday for every year of service, up to a maximum of 5 additional days, pro rata.
