How to Make the Most of Your Electrickit Aga in Summer

1. Manual use - switch it on and off as and when you need it. Only eating salads; then the Aga can stay off. Fancy some grilled fish, or a steak; then use your hotplate only. Want a full roast dinner; then use your ovens and turn them off when finished. Manual use can reduce any heat output helping to keep your kitchen cool when your Aga is not in use.
2. The ability to turn your ovens on and off as much as you like - some traditional Agas do not like being turned off at all, the 30amp economy 7 Aga being the classic example, and switching them on and off throughout the summer can cause you issues later down the line. 5. Using the rest setting - automate the Aga to drop down to a lower rest temperature when not in use overnight to reduce the ambient heat. Doing this also helps speed up the oven heat times when needed too.

6. Add a high temperature hot cupboard - this upgrade option on a 4 oven conversion makes a fantastic summer cooker. Made from steel and not full cast iron, it is quick to heat up but also quick to cool down, reducing heat output. Plus, you can use the timer functions to automate its use, minimising heat in your kitchen.

7. Add an induction hob - If converting your existing Aga or buying a converted Aga, consider adding an induction or ceramic hob option alongside a traditional hob. This gives instant heat when you need it, and instant cold when you don’t.
