We’re thrilled to introduce our customers to this exciting new addition to eControl’s offering, an alternative hob for eControl Agas. Fitting into the space of an Aga’s hotplate, INSTAHEAT is an electric ceramic infrared hob fit for 21st century cookery.

INSTAHEAT is the perfect option for those wanting fast, instant heat while retaining the traditional look of an Aga. With fully adjustable and controllable temperatures, we’ve found them to produce reliable and consistent cooking as well as a hugely reduced running cost. Slotted into the Aga top plate surface discreetly beneath the dome, Instaheat does not change the immediate aesthetic of the Aga. Lift the lid however and the Instaheat hob has a sleek and contemporary design with its glossy glass surface and matt surround.

How it works

The hob runs on 2.5kw element and is operated separately from the ovens, allowing for higher temperatures and significantly faster heating times than traditional Aga hotplates. No more rumbling stomachs in the morning - eggs can be scrambled and bacon fried without delay. The hob replaces just one of the hotplates, meaning you can use contemporary and traditional side by side.

Suitable for Series X eControl models, the hobs are adjusted via the control panel, with a hob selector switch allowing the user to choose which hob is on and clear and easy to use temperature dials. When placed in ECO mode, the hob is turned off, meaning no more wasted energy and much reduced bills. The Instaheat hob should not be left on when the lid is closed.

 
 

The essentials

  • A 40amp breaker is required for 2, 3 or 4 oven Agas. Don’t know what that means? No fear - we will talk you through any questions you may have.

  • INSTHEAT fits neatly into the space for your Aga’s hotplate, so no remodelling is required.

  • Only suitable for Series X eControl models - unfortunately this means it can not be used in Electrickits and cannot be retrofitted.
